At that time the most popular Bruin fan website was Bruinzone.com, which actually catered more to the Bruin basketball devotees. Also at the time, the main resource to follow UCLA football recruiting was wildwestsports.com, which was actually run by a Trojan honk.

Making Bruin Gold a portal for UCLA College Football remains a primary goal for Bruin faithful: a source to absorb and share the Bruin football experience via the web in a hassle-free environment.

As you may notice, this is an independently-owned site -- free of membership restrictions and dues.
