- Lettered as tackle in 1946, 47. Transferred from Alabama\Georgia Tech as part of Navy's V-12 Program
- Was actually drafted to NFL prior to playing for UCLA. He was a 13th round selection (129th overall) in the 1945 NFL Draft (Phildelphia Eagles).
